Re-syncing after configuration changes

Saving a change to your replenishment configuration takes effect in RevoStock's database immediately — but the Buying Table and Dashboard numbers you see are generated by a data sync, and the most recent sync has not yet seen your new settings. This article explains why that separation exists, how to trigger an immediate recalculation, and exactly what gets recomputed when the sync runs.

Why there is a delay

RevoStock's Buying Table and Dashboard are powered by a planning simulator that runs during each data sync. The simulator reads your current inventory levels, sales history, demand forecasts, and replenishment configuration together in one pass to produce reorder suggestions, stockout projections, and GMV forecasts.

Saving a config change writes to the database instantly. The Live SKU Config tab reflects your new settings right away because it reads directly from the saved configuration — no sync required. However, the Buying Table and Dashboard numbers are still based on the last completed sync run and will remain unchanged until a new sync processes the updated config.

The stale config banner

After you save any replenishment configuration change, the Dashboard will display a yellow banner:

"Replenishment config has changed since your last sync. Numbers shown may be outdated."

This banner is your signal that the figures on screen no longer reflect your current configuration.

Triggering an immediate recalculation

You do not need to wait for the next scheduled sync. To recalculate immediately:

  1. Look for the stale config banner at the top of the Dashboard.
  2. Click the Recalculate now button in the banner.
  3. RevoStock queues a sync run. The banner updates to show progress.
  4. When the run completes, the banner clears and the Dashboard and Buying Table refresh with the updated figures.

The recalculation typically takes less than a minute for most catalogs, though larger stores with extensive history may take slightly longer.

tip

The Recalculate now button triggers exactly the same process as a manual sync initiated from the Data Sync page. Either path will pick up your latest configuration changes and recompute the full simulator output.

What the sync recomputes

When a sync runs after a configuration change, the simulator recalculates everything that depends on replenishment settings:

  • Trigger thresholds — the stock level or forecasted date at which each SKU's reorder is flagged.
  • Reorder quantities — the suggested number of units to order, after applying Days of supply, MOQ, and Maximum quantity cap.
  • Suggested reorder dates — when each SKU should be ordered based on the new Lead time and Safety stock values.
  • Stockout projections — the forecasted date on which each SKU would reach zero if not reordered.
  • Buying Table rows — added, removed, or updated to reflect the new trigger and quantity calculations.

Any SKU whose resolved configuration changed — even if only one field changed at one layer — is fully reprocessed.

note

A sync re-runs the planner against your current forecast — it does not retrain the forecast itself. The forecast model is on its own weekly schedule (see Forecasting). That's why reorder quantities can update minute-to-minute as inventory changes, while underlying demand predictions update once a week.

Hourly auto-sync

If you do not click Recalculate now, the changes will still take effect automatically. RevoStock runs an hourly auto-sync in the background. The next scheduled run will pick up your saved configuration and recompute the simulator output without any manual action on your part.

For time-sensitive buying decisions — such as a product that is already near a stockout threshold — it is worth clicking Recalculate now rather than waiting up to an hour for the auto-sync.
