How long does the initial sync take?
For most stores the initial sync finishes in several minutes. Stores with a large catalog or many years of order history can take up to around 30 minutes.

The sync runs automatically during Step 2 of the onboarding flow. You don't need to trigger it manually, and you can safely leave the page open in the background while it runs.
What's happening during sync
The initial sync is a single pipeline that runs four stages back to back:
- Catalog fetch — pulls all products, variants, and current inventory levels from Shopify.
- Order history fetch — pulls historical order lines used to compute sales velocity.
- Replenishment config generation — builds a default configuration for every tracked SKU (lead time, safety stock, days of supply, MOQ).
- First forecast run — uses the order history to produce initial demand forecasts and populate the Buying Table.
All four stages must complete before your dashboard shows live data.
When it's slower than expected
If the progress indicator has been running for more than 45 minutes, something may have stalled. Common causes are a temporary Shopify API rate-limit or a network timeout between RevoStock and your store.
